It is time for ROUND 6 of the Promo Card Showdown! 💥🥊

This is where you decide which promo cards will be added to the Season One promo-pack. During our many design sessions we had a lot of ideas for extra words 📖, dinosaurs 🦖 and shops 🏪 for Bable, Time Zoo and Grachtenpand.

And we thought it would be fun to let you choose which ones will make it to the game!

You are not choosing an animal today for Time Zoo 🦖🦣 but a spacious enclosure in which your animals feel at home and can thrive. This card will give you a bonus point for each pescatarian 🐟 that it hunting in this area.

A) BEACH, a landform alongside a body of water which consists of loose particles. The particles composing a beach are typically made from rock, such as sand, gravel, shingle, pebbles. Sandy beaches occupy about one third of global coastlines. Preserved beaches are important biomes with important roles in aquatic or marine biodiversity, such as for breeding grounds for sea turtles or nesting areas for seabirds or penguins.
B) CORAL REEF, an underwater ecosystem characterized by reef-building corals. Reefs are formed of colonies of coral polyps held together by calcium carbonate. Most coral reefs are built from stony corals, whose polyps cluster in groups. Coral belongs to the class Anthozoa in the animal phylum Cnidaria, which includes sea anemones and jellyfish. Unlike sea anemones, corals secrete hard carbonate exoskeletons that support and protect the coral.

For Bable 🛕🧱 you can choose between 2 different languages for the 'Draw 2 Resource cards from the deck, and place them face up in your Supply' action.

C) HINDI, the standardised variety of the Hindustani language used as the official language of India alongside English. It is written in Devanagari script and is the lingua franca of North India. Hindi is the fourth most-spoken first language in the world, after Mandarin, Spanish and English. 
D) TURKISH, the most widely spoken of the Turkic languages, with around 90 to 100 million speakers. In 1928, as one of Atatürk's reforms in the early years of the Republic of Turkey, the Perso-Arabic script-based Ottoman Turkish alphabet was replaced with the Latin script-based Turkish alphabet.

Well... the cards are not really shops this time, but they can be used as a ground floor. You will get more points if you have at least 12 birds or at least 8 flags in your street.

E) ALBERT CUYP MARKET, located in the vibrant De Pijp neighborhood of Amsterdam, is one of the city's most iconic outdoor markets, offering a bustling fusion of sights, sounds, and flavors. Established in 1904 and named after the famous Dutch painter Albert Cuyp, the market stretches along Albert Cuypstraat and boasts over 260 stalls selling a diverse array of goods, including fresh produce, cheese, flowers, clothing, and souvenirs.
F) JOHAN CRUYFF ARENA, the main stadium of the Dutch capital city of Amsterdam and the home stadium of football club AFC Ajax since its opening. Built from 1993 to 1996 at a cost equivalent to €140 million, it is the largest stadium in the country.

The Promo Card Showdown! 💥🥊 results for ROUND 5 are in!

Thanks to many of you who voted, we now know which cards will be added to the promo pack! Not much love for Polish and the anomalocaris (come on! look how cute they are!) in this round. Very clear victories for Bable and Time Zoo. Grachtenpand was close this time around.

It is time for ROUND 5 of the Promo Card Showdown! 💥🥊

This is where you decide which promo cards will be added to the Season One promo-pack. During our many design sessions we had a lot of ideas for extra words 📖, dinosaurs 🦖 and shops 🏪 for Bable, Time Zoo and Grachtenpand.

And we thought it would be fun to let you choose which ones will make it to the game!

For Bable 🛕🧱 you can choose between 2 different languages for the 'Place a Building card from your supply into the tower' action.

A) SWAHILI, also known by its local name Kiswahili, is a Bantu language originally spoken by the Swahili people, who are found primarily in Tanzania, Kenya and Mozambique (along the East African coast and adjacent littoral islands). Swahili has a significant number of loanwords from other languages, mainly Arabic, as well as from Portuguese, English and German. 
B) POLISH, ranks as the sixth most-spoken among languages of the European Union. The traditional 32-letter Polish alphabet has nine additions (ą, ć, ę, ł, ń, ó, ś, ź, ż) to the letters of the basic 26-letter Latin alphabet, while removing three (x, q, v).

Let's add a new animal in the mix for Time Zoo 🦖🦣 Which of these pescatarians 🦀🐟🦑 is your favourite! 
This animal allows you to steal a random food card from each opponent, tuck all the blue food cards 💧 underneath this card, each cards is worth 1 point at the end of the game. Discard all other cards.

C) ANOMALOCARIS, a remarkable marine predator from the Cambrian period, was one of the earliest apex predators. With its distinctive circular mouth and grasping appendages, it hunted smaller marine organisms with agility. Despite its name, Anomalocaris was not a shrimp but a distant relative of modern arthropods, offering insights into early marine ecosystems and arthropod evolution.
D) AMMONITE, extinct spiral shelled cephalopods. They are more closely related to living coleoids (i.e., octopuses, squid and cuttlefish) than they are to shelled nautiloids (such as the living Nautilus). The earliest ammonoids appeared during the Devonian, with the last species vanishing during or soon after the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event.

E) HORTUS BOTANICUS, founded in 1638, is one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. Spanning over 8,000 plant species across various climates and ecosystems. It not only provides a serene escape for nature enthusiasts but also serves as a center for botanical research and education, preserving biodiversity and fostering a deeper understanding of the natural world.
F) POEZENBOOT, or Catboat, is a unique floating sanctuary, dedicated to providing shelter and care for stray and abandoned cats. Established in 1966 by Henriette van Weelde, the Poezenboot offers a safe haven for felines in need, housing them on a converted houseboat moored along one of Amsterdam's canals.

It was a landslide victory for the Grachtenpand roof! The Time Zoo enclosures came very close. There was only one vote difference for the Bable language... 😬
